A Sweet Homecoming Tradition: Court Members Call Home
· Saturday, August 22, 2026

One of Columbia Academy's oldest and most heartwarming Homecoming traditions happens just after the new Homecoming Court is elected. Rather than finding out through an announcement alone, the newly elected girls make their way to the Head of School's office, where they get to personally call their families to share the exciting news.
There is something truly special about watching these moments unfold. The excitement on the girls' faces as they dial home, the surprise and joy in their families' voices on the other end, and the laughter that so often follows make this one of the most memorable parts of the entire Homecoming season. Some calls bring happy tears, others bring hilarious reactions, but all of them capture a genuine, heartfelt moment between a student and the people who love her most.
It is traditions like this one that make Homecoming at Columbia Academy about more than crowns and titles. They are about family, community, and the small, meaningful moments that students will carry with them long after graduation.
Congratulations to this year's Homecoming Court on this exciting honor, and thank you to the families who picked up the phone and shared in the celebration.
